Tutoring at Michigan Technical Academy – Middle School

Enable students through tutoring, mentoring, and assessing the needs of the classroom

Program Description

After-school programs provide a healthy environment for students. This program targets several needs of students by providing homework help, recreational activities, guidance, as well as supplemental academic resources. In joining this program, you will help to enable students through tutoring, mentoring, and assessing the needs of the classroom. You’ll have the opportunity to be a significant influence in the lives of 40 fifth through eighth graders at Michigan Technical Academy Middle School. It’s a great opportunity to serve Detroit, to learn more about Detroit, and to build lasting relationships with Detroit students and other university students.

**This is a semester long weekly commitment

Please contact this program’s Community Coordinator, Samantha Yassine, at sgyassin@umich.edu if you have any questions about the program or about volunteering in a weekly program for the Detroit Partnership.
