What is a site leader?
Site leaders act as the liaison between The Detroit Partnership and the volunteers. Each site leader is in charge of 10-15 volunteers on DP Day (each student organization is required to have one site leader per every 10-15 volunteers).
What does a site leader do?
Prior to DP Day:
Site leaders must attend one of the two offered orientation dates:
- Thursday, March 14 from 8:00-9:30 PM
- Friday, March 15 from 8:00-9:30 PM
Additionally, site leaders should recruit friends and classmates to register as volunteers.
On DP Day (March 23, 2013)
Site leaders are responsible for keeping his/her volunteers aware, active, and motivated throughout the day. It is recommended that site leaders meet up and lead discussions with their volunteers a few days before DP Day for team-bonding and to distribute important information to his/her volunteers. Site leaders are an integral part of what makes DP Day run effectively.
How do my group members register to volunteer?
Individual volunteer registration will open on February 8. Your group members will select your group from a dropdown menu of registered groups during their registration process.

Know some classmates who might be interested? Encourage your friends to register as individual volunteers.
**Please be aware that there is a $25 fee for student organizations to participate in DP day in order to help with costs of supplies. If more than 15 volunteers sign up with your organization, an additional deposit of $50 is required that will be returned when at least 2/3 of your group’s registered volunteers show up on DP Day.
Site leader registration ends February 14.
Individual volunteer registration begins on February 10.
